Embrace the sustainable lifestyle and explore our four acre grounds at any time of day. See what’s growing in the organic allotments and polytunnel, explore the network of paths through the young wild orchard, discover the meadow and wind through the ferny woodlands and streams.
Eat In or Out
The self catering accommodation has a fully equipped kitchen, dining areas and breakfast bar. You will be greeted on arrival with a light breakfast for your first morning. And take a short two minute stroll up the lane to our neighbour, the Old Smithy Inn for a pint or freshly cooked food in an historic thatched pub.
Enjoy Peace & Privacy
Enjoy the dedicated private outdoor garden space with al fresco dining and bbq facilities, outdoor sofas and deckchairs with views over the orchard and wooded valley. You will have your own parking space and a private entrance.
Relax with Us
For those days when you just want to stay home our library has various book titles including classics, novels, and many subject books, as well as a variety of board games, quizzes and toys. Or why not watch a film on the flat screen TV with Netflix, BBC iPlayer and Disney +.
Discover Welcombe
Welcombe is a beautiful coastal village on the border of North Devon and Cornwall within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We have a wonderful village pub, the Old Smithy Inn, local walks, a church, a children’s play park, and are also blessed with the stunning National Trust Welcombe Mouth and South West Coast Path just a 5 minute drive (or 20 minute walk).
Take A Walk
The area of National Trust coastline is a walking paradise with the most stunning section of the South West Coast Path on our doorstep. Borrow a map for a planned walk along the coast to Hartland, Hawkers Hut, Speke’s Mill or Duckpool, or get lost in the wooded valley of Marsland Nature Reserve.
Explore North Cornwall & Devon
Welcombe is an ideal base to explore North Devon and Cornwall. Head north for convenient access to the Hartland Peninsula, Bideford, Instow and Appledore, and Dartmoor further afield. Head south to the bustling Cornish seaside town of Bude and an array of beaches within 20 minutes drive, and Widemouth, Crackington Haven, Boscastle, Tintagel and Port Isaac within an hour.
Hit the Beach
We are blessed with the most wonderful array of beaches and surf spots on our doorstep. Discover the breathtakingly wild landscapes of the Wrecker’s Coast at Welcombe Mouth and Duckpool, surf the wide expanses of Sandymouth and Northcott, or take a 20 minute drive to the family friendly beaches at Bude.
Get Active in The Sea
The north coast of Cornwall is a fabulous place to embrace the sea and is a surfer’s paradise. Take a free swim in the the stunning public sea pool in Bude or why not have a go at surfing, body boarding, SUP (paddle boarding), sea kayaking, wake boarding or coasteering at various local beaches with the help of local instructors.

Our beautiful village of Welcombe is home to a number of artisan businesses. Visit the CARV leather studio in our grounds (where sustainable leather bags, accessories and homeware are beautifully handcrafted in house), or check out neighbouring artisans at Welcombe Pottery, Pacha Design (kitchens and homeware) and Popalini & Jezando Ceramics.
Access
While we strive to accommodate the needs of all guests, our historic property is not designed for disabled access and much of our grounds will be difficult to access for those with disabilities.
